Fresh Bait That's Always In Season

Rainbows
Rainbow minnows are a popular bait choice due to their bright, eye-catching coloration and lively movement, which attract a variety of game fish. Use them for walleye, northern pike, and bass in both lakes and rivers. Their durability and availability make them a reliable and effective option in any season.

Crawlers
Nightcrawlers, also known as earthworms, are excellent all-around bait for various fish species in Minnesota, including bass, walleye, and pike. They are particularly effective when fished with a jig or as part of a crawler harness for walleye.

Sucker Minnows
Going for bigger predator fish? Try our larger sized sucker minnows.
Available in 2-6" sizes, these are an appealing meal for larger fish like big walley or Northern Pike.

Crappie Minnows
Minnows can be effective when other baits aren't producing or when fish are feeling finicky. Minnows can be rigged on a hook and presented in various ways, including with a bobber, on a jig, or by drifting or trolling.

Waxies
Wax worms (also called waxies) are excellent bait for a variety of fish, particularly panfish like sunfish, perch, crappie, and bluegill. They are also popular for catching trout.
For presentation, insert the hook through the head of the wax worm or through the center.

Fathead Minnows
Fathead minnows are a common prey for a variety of fish, including crappies, walleyes, largemouth bass, and northern pike. Smaller fathead minnows (around 1 inch long) are effective for catching crappie While larger ones are good for larger fish like walleye and northern pike.
